Buffalo Run Into The Storm

Buffalo run INTO the storm.
Why?
A quick google search shares this, "When faced with an approaching storm, buffalo (or bison) run into it, rather than away. This seemingly counterintuitive behavior allows them to get through the storm's impact more quickly, minimizing the time they spend enduring the harsh conditions."
The week before our 2024 conference championship game, my friend shared this mentality with our basketball team over Zoom. And it stuck with us. Big time.
We realized we were standing right in front of our own storm — a high-pressure, high-stakes moment we’d seen coming all season. But how we faced it? That was entirely up to us.
We chose to charge toward it.
With six minutes left in the championship game, we were down by nine. The crowd was loud. The pressure was real. And we had every opportunity to fold — to make excuses, to hesitate, to give in.
But we didn’t.
We had made a promise to one another: Leave everything on the court. Do everything in our control to bring a championship to our school.
We ran into the storm — together.
Play by play, we chipped away. Possession by possession, we stayed locked in. Our trust in each other, our preparation, and our mindset made the difference.
The result?
Champions.
Whatever storm you’re facing — whether it’s a game, a life decision, a goal that feels too far away — gather what you need, prepare like crazy, and then:
Be a buffalo.
