Be Curious

"Curiosity and questions will get you further than confidence and answers."

- Maxime Legace

"Be curious, not judgmental." -Ted Lasso

The topic of being curious has come up a lot recently.

This first quote resonated with me, "Curiosity and questions will get you further than confidence and answers." - Maxime Legace

To me, the benefit of being curious about someone else is that they feel seen, heard, and valued. And who doesn't want that?

It's easy to want to focus on ourselves or quickly offer a solution to someone's problem. However, when someone genuinely listens to learn, not to respond, the impact can be transformational. That is truly a skill that is underrated and one that I strive to improve every day.

My mom is someone that I believe has mastered this skill. Everyone who knows her, knows how much love and encouragement she provides to the people in her life.

This second quote resonated with me but in a different way, "Be curious, not judgmental." -Ted Lasso

First, I am a huge Ted Lasso fan. He is authetncially himself, makes everyone feel included and valued, and truly puts the team-first over any indiviudal.

It is so easy to judge others. It's harder to take the time to try and understand them, but that is where the magic happens. The time and effort it takes to learn more about someone is worth it. And as I learned from a friend/mentor of mine, "Once you truly learn about someone, it's hard not love them."

If we all do our part to be a little bit more curious, a little bit more kind, it will make a BIG difference.

Thank you for reading and please feel free to reach out if I can help in anyway!

Sending positive vibes,

Dan
